Those who advocate cultural transformation as a church mandate sometimes speak of beautifying the created order. Here's a question: If beautification is our goal, should hairless cats be exterminated? Or to get a bit more personal, should ugly people get plastic surgery? (I hope not. Miscellanies 10: On Cultural Transformation and Hairless Cats

Not that I'm a big advocate of saying the church should be about the work of cultural transformation (whatever this phrase actually means), but is "beautifying the created order" really about cultural transformation?
The created order itself has a beauty created by the God who pronounced things "good" (even hairless cats and ugly people!).
I figured it was a postmodern cat.
It's always/already defurred!
(I really should let that joke die, but I just can't.)
