In his history of Christian doctrine Dr. John Hannah writes:
Karl Barth (1886-1968) defined the [enlightenment] as "a system founded upon the presupposition of faith in the omnipotence of human ability" (Our Legacy: The History of Christian Doctrine, 58).

Barth is great. Sure he got a few things wrong, but man, what a light in darkness.
Love the header. Westminster assembly debating. Didn't you guys say they are publishing some of the notes from the sessions soon? Love to read that. Know any good books about the formation of the Westminster Confession?
Lig Duncan is heading up Westminster Assembly Project
I don't know of any good books, just sections of a recent series, The WCF in the 21st Century.
I think he's right.
It's all about man, as in, "Man's not so bad."
"Don't look up or out, but look within."
